The paddle

Finally we will code the hitTest. Make a Paddle on the bottom of the screen, select it and create a movieClip (F8). Right click and select ‘actions’. Put the following actions in.
onClipEvent(mouseMove){
_x = _root._xmouse;
}
onClipEvent(enterFrame){
 for(i = 0;i <_root.arraysize;i++){
 if(hitTest(_root["ball"+_root.array[i]])){
 _root["ball"+_root.array[i]].move = 0;
 }
 }
}
Firstly we make the paddle follow the mouse. Simple. But every frame, what we do is: Step through the array, one by one, and check if the paddle is in contact (hitTest) with the names in the array. And if we are, set that ball’s move to 0. Now if we export the movie we have a complete working system. If you want to remove every duplicated movie at once (end of level/game over) then you would use the following code on the root of the movie (you can see this in use in the example .fla)
