Now we have a text file sitting out there and a movie ready to duplicate movie clips til the cows come home. How do we put it all together, and what are some of the Gotchas? Keep the following things in mind:
When you duplicate Movie Clips, each clip needs to have a different Depth, or they'll 'overwrite' each other. Take a look at the FLA to see one way to solve the problem.
Your movie may be downloaded at different speeds. Make sure that you've read in your values from your CGI before you start displaying your question and answers.
I've used a text file as an example, but included in the source code is an ASP page that generates the contents of the text file we're using. To use the ASP script instead, you'd simply change the URL field that calls poll.txt to poll.asp.
In Part II we'll talk about sending the user's response back to the CGI, saving the response, if necessary, and receiving back survey results information.
