IntroductionBelieve it or not there are some disadvantages in using Flash to construct your web sites however the good points usually out weigh the bad and flash sites get built. One of these disadvantages is that the back button on your browser will take you right back to the beginning of the site this is because it looks for the last HTML page you were on not the last frame you were on. This tutorial shows you how you can create back and forward buttons that remember which frames you last visited. I recommend you have your flash web site open in a pop up browser window set to open with no menus and no control bars etc. (there's plenty of tutorials on how to do this on Flashkit)- this prevents the back and forward buttons on the main browser window from effecting it. Now all we have to do is build a FLASH back and forward button. We do this by setting up an array, which records which frames we have visited within the movie. Here's the working example: Note: As I am self employed time is of the essence therefore
I haven't got the time to do fancy screen shots etc. so it is best if you download
my example and study that as we go along, sorry!
