The Result

When the mouse rolls over one of the boxes, the "box" instance plays the "commence" labeled frame, essentially turning the instance transparent to reveal what is underneath and at the end, removes the instance from memory. Hence the "Remove Movie Clip" command in the last frame of the ChangingBox Movie.

It is imperative that the number of frames playing in the ChangingBox movie that tweens the colors does not equal the number of boxes desired across the screen, the variable "squares", as then all the boxes will be in sync and the flashing, changing colors will lose a bit of their flair.

One final note to add. If you desire more rows, then just repeat the "else if" statements (adding "n" variables), until you have the number of rows needed to cover the space.

Good Luck!
