Dynamic charts

Introduction

I created this tutorial because I wanted to use Flash MX to update a bar chart component in real time. I wanted to enter data and chart information and click a button to update the chart with the new values.

It's probably a good idea to have a look at the sample file DynamicCharts.swf before you read this tutorial so you can see what I mean.

This tutorial is all about how I created the chart. It covers:

• Setting up the movie
• Creating the chart information
• Creating the dynamic text fields
• Updating the chart data
