Step One - Creating the Movie Clip

You can draw this on the main stage if you like but I prefer to work from a clean stage. If you don't already have your library open click on Window-Library. Click the options tab and choose New Movie Clip. You can name it whatever you wish but for the sake of this tutorial I'll call it loader.

Next use the box tool to draw a rectangle and center it on the stage. Select the rectangle and chose Insert-Convert to symbol and make it a movie clip also. Now in the instance panel name the rectangle bar. Choose the text tool and click the Text Options panel. Make sure you select dynamic text from the Text Options panel and draw a small box next to the rectangle. Select the box and give it the variable nperc.

Now select frame 2 in the timeline and insert a frame (Insert-Frame). This will cause the movie clip to loop and repeat the actionscript your about to write.

» Description: Hmm... what to say about this one? It's reminiscent of the closing notes of the opening music from the Three Stooges done in a church organ style with a closing cymbal crash. I'll give this one away gratis, but feel free to check out my free loops and potential upcoming license-mandated ones over in the respective part of Flashkit.
