So there you have it! Operators in a nutshell (oops i've probably violated some the trademark there ;) Don't be afraid of them, just remember - If you use quote marks around the value it will be a string and thus require a different set of operators. To change between a string literal and an expression click on the button on the right of the text field. If the string literal is selected you will notice quote marks bracketing the text in the actionscript window. When the expression option is selected there will be no quote marks bracketing the text.
