Layer 1: text This layer contains the text field which will display the information in the text file. To create it, select the text tool and then the text field modifier. Draw your text field on the stage. Once you have done this, click in the text field to get a blinking cursor (as if you are about to type something but there is no need to do so). While the cursor is blinking you can modify the font, colour and size of the text field from the toolbar. This will effect how the tip of the day text will be displayed. Next we want to assign a variable to the text field and modify its properties. To do this, ensure that the text field is DEselected. Having done this right click on your text field and select properites from the context menu. This window will appear:
As you can see I've assigned the text field variable the name 'text'. To keep things simple you should do the same.
