Tip of the Day Generator

The Concept

The overall concept for this tutorial is simple. The shockwave file loads in a series of variables, one for each tip of the day and a variable stating the total number of tips. Once loaded, some code generates a random number between 1 and the total number of tips. This points to a variable containing some text (the tip of the day) and displays it in a text field. Too easy!!

So let's get started.

Create a new movie, define the size (Ctrl+M) and place three layers on the main timeline:

1. text
2. title button
3. actions

Now I will take you through the construction of each layer.
