Now for the Actionscripting.

Go to the resizer's movie clip level, right click the resizer button object and select Actions then paste in this code.

on (press) {
startDrag (this);
}
on (release, releaseOutside) {
stopDrag ();
}

Note: (this) tells the Actionscript that it's this object (i.e. the resizer object) that's being dragged.

Now add a new layer to the resizer's level call it "action layer" click on the keyframe and right click to select the Actions dialogue box and enter this code.

// sets a minimum width scale factor
if (this._x <= 20) {
setProperty (_root.window_mc.screen_mc, _width, 20);
setProperty (_root.window_mc.dragbar_mc, _width, 20);
setProperty (this, _x, 20);
// else sets the width scale according to the x coordinates of the resizer object
} else {
setProperty (_root.window_mc.screen_mc, _width, this._x);
setProperty (_root.window_mc..dragbar_mc, _width, this._x);
}
// sets a minimum height scale factor
if (this._y <=20) {
setProperty (_root.window_mc.screen_mc, _height, 20);
setProperty (this, _y, 20);
// else sets the height scale according to the y coorinates of the resizer object
} else {
setProperty (_root.window_mc.screen_mc, _height, this._y);
}

The minimum scale factors are to prevent the window scaling into negative values as this would be messy; so the minimum size of this window would be 20 x 20 pixels which you can amend to suit your taste, just bear in mind that size of your topbar and the resizer object as if you set the minimum below their sizes then it gets all messy again.

Next let's loop the resizer button to ensure it updates when you drag. So on the "action layer" create a keyframe at positon 2, right click, select Actions, and enter the loop code.

gotoAndPlay (1);

» Description: Hmm... what to say about this one? It's reminiscent of the closing notes of the opening music from the Three Stooges done in a church organ style with a closing cymbal crash. I'll give this one away gratis, but feel free to check out my free loops and potential upcoming license-mandated ones over in the respective part of Flashkit.
