The variable name can be any letter, number or underscore and is not case sensitive but must begin with a character and while their values may change the name doesn't. It cannot be a keyword or a Boolean literal (ie True or False) and must be unique within its scope.
Naming your variable is very important as you will discover yourself when you start programming. The names 'x' and 'qwerty' have no meaning and when you come back to edit your code days, months or even years later your code will also have no meaning. So it's good practice to give your variable names relevant labels. There are also some other important things about variables that you should know.
