The Function Armoury - GetProperty (con't)

Here is a couple of examples to help you picture the GetProperty function in action.

The following will assign the variable "movieName" the name (string) of the movie clip "/myMovie"

Set Variable: "movieName" = GetProperty ("/myMovie", _name)

This next example will give you the vertical location of the current movie when you click on a button placed in the movie. It will assign the y position to the variable "output" which can be a text field:

On (Release)
Set Variable: "output" = _y
End On
