Step 6 : Detect miss:

Now you need to detect if you are either hitting or missing the object you have made, the easiest way to do this is to create a button behind the main object and make it decrease 1 from the total each time. Create a new button and name it `Miss`. Drag this button into the scene and have it on the background covereing everything. Ensure that it is behind your target object. In the main scene draw a new textfield, and name it `miss_total`. Then double-click on the `Miss` button that you have just created, in the main scene apply the following code to the button.

On (Release)
      Set Variable: "miss_total" = miss_total + 1
End On

Now if you name the main target object as Target in the main scene, when you click on the target object it should add one to the total, and if you miss it should add one to the miss total.

:Note: If you want the miss total to immediately take the figure away from the adding total, then you can change the code to

On (Release)
      Set Variable: "total" = total - 1
End On
You will obviously not need to make another textbox called "miss_total"

» Description: Hmm... what to say about this one? It's reminiscent of the closing notes of the opening music from the Three Stooges done in a church organ style with a closing cymbal crash. I'll give this one away gratis, but feel free to check out my free loops and potential upcoming license-mandated ones over in the respective part of Flashkit.
