Part two: Buttons the same size as the movie

Here's an example of the finished product:

The first step is to once again create your animation in a movie clip. Only this time the clip isn't going to play backwards so we need to animate both the rollover animation and the rollout animation.

Create a new movie clip and name it button template. Then create the animation that you want for both the rollover and rollout animations. Start with what you want the button to look like when the users mouse isn't over it, for my button that was the "same size" part of the button. Then animate it to the "over" position, for my button that was the "as the movie" part of the button. Keep this animation short, try to make it around 5 or 6 frames, if your movie is at 18 fps (I'll explain why later). Then animate the selection back to the original position. You don't have to do it in the same amount of frames if you don't want to, but again don't make the animation too long.

» Description: Hmm... what to say about this one? It's reminiscent of the closing notes of the opening music from the Three Stooges done in a church organ style with a closing cymbal crash. I'll give this one away gratis, but feel free to check out my free loops and potential upcoming license-mandated ones over in the respective part of Flashkit.
