Special Note: In order for the clip to work it has to have a hit area , similar to a button
This means that if you want the button to work properly and you are just animating text, or small objects you will need to define a hit area.
This is done, in the same movie clip as our animation.
Create a new layer in the clip ( I find that the topmost layer is the most effective when adding a hit area) and draw a solid shape on the screen covering the area you want to be the hit area. Select the object you just drew, hit F8, convert it to a graphic and then change the alpha of the graphic to 0. The blue box surrounding the text in the image below is the graphic symbol that I changed the alpha on.
