This has got to be one of the hottest new middleware programs for swf files.
Have you ever created a file, published it and then lost the .FLA file right when you needed that code again? All the while you had a .SWF file running right in front of you, sticking its tongue out at you saying, "here I am come and get me if you can!" It's times like these were you wish you could get the code back out so you could rebuild it fast.
Well wish no more! That's right now you can recover that lost code in just a matter of moments. Thanks to a new app developed by Istanbul's (Turkey) Manitu Group. The new tool is called "Action Script Viewer"
This cool little tool lets you see all the buttons, all the labels, and movie clips in their frames and lets you save it all, or the portions that you select out to a text document. See below.
Now granted you can't just cut and paste the code into place, but at least you don't have to spend hours figuring out what you did in the first place. It's a very easy to use Application. Just pick the file and open it in the AS Viewer. There is a window below that lets you see the script itself and one above that lets you see the frame structure. There are little icons for each of the elements like labels and movie clips, making this a quick and easy read.
Now I know everybody is saying that this is a hack tool, Well it could be if the wrong people use it. But just like knock off sites get no respect in our community neither will sites that use this to create duplicated code. Creativity and ingenuity ensure the best will always rise to the top. And there are things called "Copyright" and "Intellectual Rights" that people have to stop this.
Now along the same lines this is a great tool for newbies to look at code off the OPEN SOURCE FILES this may help them to understand how things are structured. Being able to look at a file and a printed text file that shows all the code for that frame in a glance will make things a little easier to see.
The price is $49.95USD. You can buy it at www.buraks.com/asv/index.html. There is unfortunately no demo to download but I think for professionals who from time to time need this type of tool, it's a bargain. And for newbies having a hard time seeing the code in the open source files in the movie section; this would be a great help.
If you like this tool or not it does a great job! I know that I will be putting plenty of comments in my file from now on. Copyright Sons of Thunder Comm. Regards, and Happy Flashing. Bill.
