Detect the Flash Player Version and Platform of the end viewer. You can also execute different actions based on what version and or what platform they are using. Since flash 6 versions below 6,0,47,0 have issues with controlling streaming mp3's (specifically "stop" and "start") i had to build yet another flash version checker... i do believe that this is the last one you will ever need... this one is future proof. simply copy and paste a single frame into your movie... set the "required_version" variable to, well, the version you require... you can get real specific with the version, or not. This set of scripts and swf checks on the clientside if the use has got a flash-player above vers.3 and pushes a Flashsite for the specific Flashversionnumber (betw. flash3 to 6(mx) atm).
A few browsers dosen't ping-back the available plugin (like IE-Mac), so a 2nd flashbased detection is integratet.
It pushes your flash content into the open browserwindow, yes, no dull scrollbars and no fake with a new browser window! a real smooth flash embending ;-)
This script set was first relased in 1999 and constantly updated and never published, but now we give it away for free, so please give us a link and a viewable credit on the sites you use it!
