Interview

Where are you from?
Sydney.

Where did you grow up?
Sydney, and traveling Australia in a caravan.

What are your pastimes and interests?
Drumming, Beer - and making Flash films.

What's your favorite saying or cliché?
Payback’s a BITCH!

What's your favorite movie?
Apocalypse Now.

What's your favorite cocktail?
Scotch.

When did you first get involved with flash?
About a year-and-a-half ago I started doing the Spawn of Satan series to learn the program, and then I used it professionally with FudgePuppy, as well as starting Funnyazhell with a few other friends.

What is your view of the current use of flash?
We think that there are some talented people out there doing some real groundbreaking stuff, but that there are still unexplored areas of Flash that have yet to be fully exploited. The flexibility of the program has led to unprecedented diversity in animation..

Who do you feel is advancing the use of flash the most?
All the small teams out there that have realized the freedom that Flash provides and have had the balls and initiative to get their stuff onto the web. The little guys are driving the bus!

Who has been your greatest inspiration?
My friend Steve Whitehouse (who originally turned me onto Flash) with his ‘Mr. Man’ series and Kevin Peaty who helps with Funnyazhell.

Where do you see the future of flash?
Helping people make funnier animation – free from the restrictions imposed by the Nazi TV networks.

What advice would you give to budding flashers?
Buy a Wacom tablet and start drawing, Dudes!

What can FK01 attendees expect from you?
A wealth of information and entertainment… and cussin’.

Any closing words?
More BEER!
