When did you
first get involved with flash?
Years ago on version 3, but never had more than a fleeting
interest. In the last year though integration with the backend
has become much more of a reality and we've been experimenting
ever since.
What is your
view of the current use of flash?
Too many entirely Flash based web sites. We build big content
management solutions and Flash is not really suited for
the delivery of large chunks of information.
Who do you
feel is advancing the use of flash the most?
In the application development market it's definitely the
increasing ease with which you can dynamically update content
in Flash templates.
Who has been
your greatest inspiration?
Yikes... no idea.
Where do you
see the future of flash?
I'd like to see a lot more judicious use of Flash. People
need to dump the Skip-Intro movies and build clever navigation
and user interface elements. I'd like to see more Flash
that's actually in touch with backend information systems.
What advice
would you give to budding flashers?
It's not as hard as it looks - get your hands dirty.
What can FK01
attendees expect from you?
Nothing too fancy. How to get information out of the backend
and into Flash - the nuts and bolts of self-updating and
truly dynamic Flash content.
Any closing
words?
None
