    What does " embedded " mean?

    simple question needs simple answer for simple person

    With reference to fonts and Flash, it means that the font outlines are made part of the SWF file itself (embedded), so that regardless of machine, the text will appear in the appropriate font face. On the other hand, you can use "device" fonts. So basically, you're specifying a font family (e.g. _serif) and the Flash player uses a font from that family that is installed on the user's machine.

    By default, in normal text boxes, the the font is embedded. Once you get into dynamic or input text boxes, you have the option of embedding or not. Once you've drawn the text boxes on your stage and selected dynamic/input, click the Character button in the property inspector for embedding options.

    Just for the heck of it, next time you export a movie, check the box to generate a size report. You'll get a full rundown on the embedded fonts right down to the character.
