    animated characters. joints?

i am trying to make a very simple animation with a character similar to this one.

i guess the first question is. does anyone know where i can download a model similar to this one? i have looked several places and can't find anything.

second question is does anyone know if i can create this model and give it joints so i can freely move say the arm around and it won't become detatched from the body.

i am very new to this program and am trying my hardest to figure it out on my own with only moderate success (i have already made one extremly simple animation). so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    thank you.

i'm sorry but i do have one more question for you about the groups.

i have figured out how to group them and everything is going great. (it's actually pretty dang cool).

but my problem is when i was creating the model i wasn't naming the pieces.

and now in the hierarchy window i can't seem to change the name of anything.

am i missing something or is it to late to change the names so i can keep track of what everything is?

It's all cool, all you have to do is select the object or group then you can change the name under the Object page on the Properties Toolbar.
