Someone bored and wanna start a fun project?

I'm sure all of you know Flash Mobs (Meeting at a specific point at a specific time just to leave a moment later)

Now my idea was to do Forum Flash Mobs. As an example:

On the Forum Flash Mobs website we announce the happenings. One per week. A happening is a url to a forum, a timeframe to post and how the thread name is where you should post in that timeframe and a motto for what you should post.

Then at that date and timeframe, everyone goes to that site posts something in that thread and leaves the forum. All users of that forum will have a "what just happened here?" feeling, that'0s for sure.

Anyone interested?

I'm in. First things first, as FK is world wide, we would have to find a time when alot of people would be available.

It would suck if we said yeah lets meet at 3pm EST USA, only to have all European FKers sleeping because it was 3 in the morning Europe.

Basically a few months ago I had my FlipShark.com forums, and I used a "really cool" javascript code to remove the invision board stuff without changing skins (the forum owner said "really cool" basically it was just a simple doc.write command)
The owner of said forum offerred to display a banner for my site on his forum for 6 months, if I were willing to fix his forum up the same way. I did the work, he never placed the banner, I posted on the forum asking what's up?, I got banned.

That was not the idea.

It should be a fun thing and not something that makes all the forum admins angry.

About the timeframe. I think between 17:00 and 18:00 CET is a good time as I'm still in my office and most from the US are already online.

I know, I know, but it would be a nice way to get someone back, I mean "nice" literally.
If I wanted to be real mean I could delete all the changes I made and then some (as I still for some reason have admin access to the forum) or I could make my admin account the only admin account and then he couldn't regulate the site. But me being a nice guy (and knowing if he could trace it back to me) thought I'd take the high road.

Besides it's a sports forum so we could all go in pretending to be excited about some obscure game (Croatian Women's Junior Baseball), start posting to cheer for our team, and then disappear without a trace.

Just one idea.

Ok, that sounds better. Can I by Dubravka?

Things we need:

Rules (Text to inform not only the peoples that want to be in the mob, the forum admins should be able to get the idea of it too and see that it's just some nice fun. Maybe they can even get some new members)

A name: Like FK MOB SQUAD (Not sure if we can use FK, I think we should take a name that separates us from FK for the case that we make troubles and peoples angry)

A first target: So we can try it out with a small group first)

Ok, before FK get's into trouble. I will host a small site for this mobs on an IP without a name. I don't wanna have them come back here and make trouble.

If someone has some free time, feel free to make a design.

Ideas for the name of our mob project? (Would be hard to make a design without a name)

I can only do dynamic if it's CF, sorry, I suck.

Yeah why not, Im in too.

Just a few ideas:

1. We give each member in this Internet Flash mob a unique ID, and when it comes to signing up for whatever forum we all use the same name with a suffix of whatever ID we are assigned (e.g. "flashmobber_47").

This way there is a little more confusion as suddenly hundred's of members with similar names storm the forum; and also this makes it easier for a moderator of the forums to delete the accounts afterwards.

2. If its allowed on the forum then each member could post some image that is perhaps part of a sequence/animation or maybe the mobber's logo, again using the above unique ID idea.

The problems with this being getting each of us to post in the correct order; and the potential bandwidth this could use up.

3. Internet Flash mob a Flash mob forum...

I will do the dynamic, no problem with that. I would do the design too, but I don't have much time right now.

That would be too dificult to manage, especially in a specific order.

I like the idea with the number. Maybe we can create a mob avatar with the unique number of every member on it. I could even do this as a dynamic generated image like: mobavatar.php?id=183 but I think on most forums you can't use dynamic images as an avatar.
