    better quality text?

    Hi!

Is there a way of making a better quality text?
I'm making a menu and all it's button texts are fuzzy.
(I've seen this happen all over the net but thought to ask)

The best way to get clear small fonts in a swf is to use pixelfonts (bitmap fonts). Here is a tutorial on using them:

    Thanks!

That tutorial had a part about using full number sizes. I'll try that since the pixel fonts don't fit the site i'm designing.

The reference to whole numbers is to the positioning of the fonts in the movie. The font point size is fixed - most pixel fonts must be set at 8 point - but the actual screen size of the fonts can vary. I use a lot of pixel fonts from www.fontsforflash.com and have made myself a few reference movies so that I can keep track of which font comes out in which size. For what it is worth they are at www.wellesley.edu/Chemistry/Flick/fff3.html
    www.wellesley.edu/Chemistry/Flick/fff4.html
    www.wellesley.edu/Chemistry/Flick/fff5.html

A collection showing a few non-FFF fonts is at www.wellesley.edu/Chemistry/Flick/FFF.html

Another demonstration of the use of pixel fonts in Swish is http://www.wellesley.edu/Chemistry/F...nttesting.html

Other good sources of pixel fonts are
    www.miniml.com
    http://www.orgdot.com/aliasfonts/
http://htmlandbeyond.tripod.com/ari11fla.zip (Arial 11 - you need to right-click and "save as"

    Hope this helps,

    Flick

(some people like http://www.dafont.com/ but I have generally been disappointed with their fonts)
