scrolling through frames of a movie

Okay, I'm new at flash, but I have to do something for an assignment that seems pretty advanced...(medical illustration student)

I am animating a skeletal finger that bends up and down. I want to add a horizontal scroll bar on the side that allows the user to control the bending motion ('flexing' the finger). There will be about five frames in that motion, made into a movie clip. How do I make the scroll bar? How do I then tell the scrollbar to refer to the first frame of the movie when it is in the far left position and then to refer to the fifth frame when it is in the far right position? (an am I even going about this in the right way).

I'm under a fairly tight deadline, I do not know actionscripting (though I am very willing to learn), and we lack any faculty that knows flash that thoroughly. Help!
