    Cloud Time Lapse

I can't believe there are no creative people out there that take these things... Every single file I can find that is a cloud time lapse is a) quicktime *shudders* b) costs money, and c) is bad resolution.

Do regular people not decide "you know what, I want to time lapse those clouds".. Probably the most frustrating thing I've ever searched.

Now, in light of this, I was wondering if anyone knows where to find one, and if not, just let us know what the most frustrating thing you've ever searched for was.

    Thanks,
    DaVuLf

A special video of the Jaguar S-Type R filmed in the south of France. Really wonderful. Watched it once. Lost it. I really miss it...

Why not shoot your own video?

I spent several days searching for all the photos of ladyfriends I bedded while at uni after a major HD crash... I still have the HD hoping to recover them one day when I'm old and pervy! There was no secret filming involved kids!

You can do a time lapse recording with almost any camera and pryme

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not really into paying for thigns like that. It isn't really super super important (it would just look cool). I understand that some people here actually make a living doing these things, but for a hobbyist such as myself, it's not worth spending money on. Not even that, but the cost of most of these 'cloud packs' are like $500US. Thats 2 weeks of work for me...

MarkP: I found some really neat program about a year ago when I accidentally formatted my dad's business computer (), it pretty much shows you every file that existed on the HD. Was pretty sweet. I have it on a diskette somewhere in the house. I believe it was ~$150 for the program.

Asun2Art: Don't give up on that, I know Google is good for some things... but love is not one .

Wannabe: I have thought of it, but I can't really think of anywhere that I can leave a camera for a day or so. I'd do it from my house, but there are trees everywhere :@.

Asheep_uk: I know eh.. that's definately the worst. I once saw a movie of a 747 that was landing on a highway (I think it was a shortfilm) and this guy was trying to drive away, but nobody even noticed the plane was coming. You know what.. maybe that was a dream. lol, I get these things confused I suppose.

Thanks for the help guys, if you have any more suggestions, lemme know.

I would think a few hours should provide sufficient enough footage for a nice loop depending on weather conditions. I am probably going to do one myself as I have been experimenting alot lately with time lapse stuff. It's pretty easy, all you need is a camera, tripod, and maybe a watch.

if you have a nice video camera you can make time lapse easily. my friends Sony VX2100 has time lapse right on it as a feature. different lengths of recording time/how long into between the recordings...very slick

My Canon G5 has an intervalometer for time lapses, it powers up at sets intervals, focuses, takes a snap then powers down...

I'm sure most Canon digital cameras will have this?

I don't have enough money (nor would I spend it) for a video camera . School is expensive these days, lol.

You want to keep me in the loop for when that time-lapse is done?

edit: Another thing to add.. In case you were looking for clouds, I managed to find some. http://www.gfy.ku.dk/~flyvholm/cloudmoviegallery.htm Enjoy.

Ya, I'll post it here if I can get it this weekend.
Unfortunately it has been nothing but grey clouds and rain here the past few days, but if there is a break I am sure I can capture something decent. The coulds tend to move nicely here when it's not storming.
